Grilled Ensaymada

Last Saturday, I went to SM Megamall after work to find a place where I can have lunch. At 3PM, most food outlets were still packed with people so I decided to forgo lunch and have merienda instead. Red Ribbon came on top my list.
Store Details
Red Ribbon Bakeshop is located at the Ground Level of SM Megamall Bldg A. It is between Café Cavana and Mister Donut. It’s a bakeshop-fast food concept bought by Jollibee Foods Corporation from its founders Danny and Tess Moran.
What’s On My Order Slip
I ordered Grilled Ensaymada, or M1 as they coded it. Red Ribbon’s Grilled Ensaymada is priced at P60 and is best served with coffee. But since I am not a coffee drinker, I requested the cashier/service crew to change the drink to Coke Light. (Who would want to drink hot coffee in a sweltering afternoon?) The cashier, who I think was a trainee, asked other two crew members about my request. After their short conference, I was billed P50 for the Grilled Ensaymada and Coke Light.

Service Factor
My order took about 10 to 15 minutes to arrive at my table. I thanked the smiling server who did not have his nametag on. I also noticed that two more crew members were not wearing their nametags.
Yummy Meter
The Grilled Ensaymada tasted just right although it was somewhat greasy. It was one of their regular ensaymadas they decided to grill, sprinkled with confectionery sugar and topped with butter.
Facilities Check
Nameless (the smiling server without nametag) was also busy mopping the floor and assisting guests with their orders the whole time I was there. But his mop was powerless over sticky dirt patches on the floor.
You’ll find no toilets here as in the case of most mall-type restaurants. Go to the mall. If it’s packed, proceed to the cinema. Don’t forget to buy a movie ticket first.
