Mocha Blends

There was something queer about me using an umbrella one hot sunny day. I thought if I exposed myself further unprotected, I might just turn into a heap of ashes right there at the parking lot of Robinsons Place Metro East on broad daylight. Imagine the relief when I finally made it inside the mall for an afternoon Mocha Blends treat courtesy of The Mystery Shopper, the mother of all restaurant mystery shoppers.
Store Details

This foreign sounding coffee shop is a Filipino-owned corporation run by Andrew dela Cruz since 2002. Mocha Blends in Robinsons Place Metro East is located at the ground floor. It’s a 25 to 30-seater corner store between Red Ribbon Bakeshop and Tokyo Tokyo. They serve various cold and hot coffee, sandwiches, breakfast choices, soups, salads and appetizers.
What’s On My Order Slip
The Mystery Shopper actually recommended the Aussie Steak. But when you’re wearing tight pants, you make sensible choices. I just had a 2pm lunch so I asked for a sandwich. They served me Farmer’s Ham and Mocha Fredoccinno after 15 minutes. (Mocha Frost is a house specialty but I did not order it. I have tasted it before in their Tomas Morato branch and I highly recommend it.)
Service Factor
The store was fully occupied when we got there. But I won’t rate how the service was like. Everyone there knew who I was with so I was given the same royal treatment.
Yummy Meter
Mocha Blend’s Mocha Fredoccinno was a cool sweet relief. I could actually take in even a gallon of that although their blue straw still does bother me until now. (Change it, will you?) Their gigantic Farmer’s Ham was a treat but I think it needs more filling. How about another slice of ham?
Facilities Check
I just noticed that plates and glasses were not bussed out as soon as their customers took off. But everything else inside was in order — low lights, good furniture, comfortable chairs and good music. Mocha Blends is a good alternative to overrated coffee and pastries of Starbucks.
