Babysitting at Starbucks
I still have the photos of my niece I took with my camera phone last year. We all went shopping at Tesco near New Malden. My niece and I stayed in Starbucks where I ordered a slice of chocolate cake at around ₤3 and she got her own Starbucks chocolate at ₤1. The temperature outside the store was damp and freezing but I decided not to have coffee. Coffee prices here were priced from ₤2.50 up. I’d rather freeze.
Clara has just finished her Cow & Gate dinner. She’s now busy chomping on the chocolate wrapper.
When I told her to smile, she started doing this. Crazy baby.
She behaved best that night and did not throw in her usual tantrums that would send this undomesticated aunt looking for her mom in panic. Clara calls me “mama” although I would jokingly say, “I’m not your mama.”
I miss her.
