Birthday treat at Karate Kid

The celebrant, the mother of all mystery diners, turned another year older last week of July. Don’t ask me how old because it’s a well-kept trade secret very few people knew about. It was in a fateful Saturday, the very same day when I had no cash in the wallet but checks waiting to be cleared, that she treated me out to a nice lunch at Karate Kid.

Landmark food court

It was my first time to visit Karate Kid at Landmark’s food court in Trinoma. Landmark’s food court here is spacious, nicely lit, clean, cute and homey. I liked the giant bowls which served as posts and uniform food court tenant signages. Architecture-wise, this is a thousand times better than those at neighboring Ali Mall, Farmers Plaza and SM Cubao food courts combined.

We were greeted by a life-sized standee of Sam Concepcion and a bizarre array of menu counter tops and boards in blue and orange at Karate Kid’s counter. We ordered our favorites: tofu steak, tempura, breaded fish with wasabe sauce and cheesy California maki. As usual, the food was yummy.

I know this is an overdue birthday post but I would like to thank Kleng-Kleng and her Karate Kid gift certificates for a filling lunch.
