Leona: More than just cream puffs
It wasn’t really the Cebu lechon nor the sutukil restaurants that made up my must-visit list of gastronomical sites in Cebu. It was Leona Cakes & Pastries that I have been dying to see, smell and taste.
I have been a fan of Leona cream puffs for more than a year now. The quality of these baked creamy goodies has always been consistent every time my brother takes home boxes of it from his business trips in Cebu. You can just imagine how glad I was to finally be at the site where these cream puffs are made.
Leona Cakes & Pastries is not simply a cream puff country but a hub of other baked varieties. There is an assortment of breads, pastries and cakes priced relatively lower than their bakeshop counterparts in Manila. Their authentic Cebu mango cake tasted so heavenly! I would have brought home one if it comes with a small fridge.
I have only visited Leona Cakes & Pastries at their branch in SM City Cebu. It’s on the second level of the new annex building.
