Bigby’s big bites
The first word that came across my mind upon entering this restaurant was “Friday’s” minus the cheering and chanting, headdress and well-decorated staff uniforms.
We were attended by shy but hospitable Bigby’s staff. I asked our server for their specialty but upon mentioning baby back ribs, I ordered bread and soup for starters and Pescado Al Fresco, a pan-seared cream dory fillet with pesto in a pool of onion jus topped with fried potato shoestrings served with rice on the side. I already have my fill of baby back ribs and all sorts of barbecue in Manila.
Bigby’s Café and Restaurant extensive menu line was literally inspired by the owners’ idea to bring international cuisine to the locals at affordable prices. The menu is consisted of appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, steaks, grilled chicken and pork and dessert. Rack-a-bye baby, a barbecued pork ribs with corn and carrots and Uncle Sam Roast Beef are Bigby’s signature dishes. Based on my estimate, average check per head ranges between P250 and P350. Not bad, to think that the delicious fish diet I ordered can actually be shared by two persons with average stomachs.
If you are in Cebu, check out Bigby’s at the second level of the new annex building of SM City. They also have branches in Bacolod, Iloilo, Davao and Cagayan de Oro. Tasteful dishes, casual ambiance and value for money made Bigby’s big in all aspects.
